Contouring is a natural alternative to cosmetic surgery that has the ability to make a positive change in anyone’s skin. It consists of a massage with four different techniques that work the 55 muscles of the face.

The first technique is a lymph drain massage and the second technique exercises the skin with a series of deep maneuvers that follow the line of the muscles. The third technique is a massage using honey and essential oils that helps to work the elasticity of the skin and improves the circulation of blood in the fast. The final technique includes acupressure points that help to relieve tension throughout the entire body.

Just as physical exercise helps to strengthen one’s body, facial-contouring tones, tightens, and activate the circulation that will result in a radiant complexion. It also gives an instant temporary facelift without a high price tag. Facial contouring also helps to diminish wrinkles and creates total relaxation. I believe that everyone’s skin can be beautiful and healthy looking at any age regardless of the person’s history.

By adding the variety of serums that now exist to face contouring, you will see immediate results in the first series of the contouring massage. After years of experience with this technique, I recommend doing a series of 6 face contouring massages for the first six weeks. This should be followed by a series of three face contouring massages a month then a continual regimen should be set in place of one face contouring massage per month for as long as possible.

Breakdown of the four massage techniques:

1. Lymph drain massage:

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural circulation of the lymph through the body. Our lymph system depends on certain essential contractions to the smooth muscle cells to propel the lymph through vessels where they are eventually returned to the cardiovascular system. Specific amounts of pressure and circular movements can be used to stimulate lymph flow.

2. Deep contour massage:

Using my hands I follow the lines of the fifty-five muscles of the face and use quick repetitive movements in an upward motion that result in a temporary facelift.

3. Honey and essential oils massage:

Organic honey combines with essential oils to help improve the elasticity of the skin. By pulling the skin in an outward direction promotes better circulation, which allows more oxygen to reach every area of the face and ultimately allows the facial skin to produce more of its own collagen.

4. Acupressure points:

Acupressure has a history dating back thousands of years in China and was used to help stimulate specific points on the body. By using acupressure, it is possible to improve the flow of energy to restore balance and harmony to the body. Along with benefits including deep relaxation, one can also expect acupressure to increase micro-circulation in the blood capillaries. Acupressure also improves muscle tone, color, and firmness of the skin along with stimulating one’s immune system, which can help relive headaches and sinus pain.

How to Avoid Skin Cancer.

Do you wonder why you have sunspots when you’ve been a fan of sunblock? Here are some tips that will make a huge difference for you, your partner and children in cancer prevention.

This article will give you a perfect picture of what you should avoid to prevent sunspots, uneven skin tone and even skin cancer.

Mistake #1: Your car will not protect you from the sun when you’re driving. As a matter of fact, it intensifies the damage caused by harmful rays because the sun bounces off your vehicle onto your face. If you’re on the freeway thinking that there’s no need to apply sun block because you’re protected, think again. You are not protected and as matter of fact you’re now a possible skin cancer victim.

What does one do to prevent the daily drive from becoming a possible target? Wear your sun block before you drive!

Mistake #2: Don’t wait to get in the sun before you apply your sun block. It should be applied 20 min before you go in the sun for maximum protection and takes 15 minutes to take effect.

Mistake #3: Do not apply sun block once daily. It only stays active for 2-3 hours. This is the main reason why people are discolored. The sun block is no longer active when they get back in their car on their afternoon drive back home.

Skin Cancer prevention takes effort and diligence. All skin types are cancer susceptible.

The darker the skin, the less the sun penetrates for melanin is a natural sun block. This does not mean that you will not get skin cancer. It just will take darker skin longer to get skin cancer.

Lighter skin types with red undertones are the most susceptible so keep your sun block with you at all times. Do not leave it in direct sun. Heat breaks down product so keep it in the shade.

The last mistake that most people regret is forgetting to apply block on the upper chest. Many women come to the spa with even toned faces and spotted chests.

This is by far the biggest complaint women have. Your sun block should be applied to your face neck and chest at all times.

My suggestion is adding a few drops of castor oil mixed in with your body lotion in the palm of your hands. Best if applied right after you shower while your skin’s wet.

Skin tag removal

Hello again:) This subject isn’t a sexy one but here it goes.

Have you ever wondered what to do about that embarrassing wart? Most people don’t talk about it but warts on fingers, knees and the face are very common. We can remove it by using  the Lamprobe treatment. The great thing about this little gadget is that it’s instant gratification for most. Lamprobe uses heat to burn away unwanted growths  and Cryoprobe freezes them. I recommend this for all skin types. Whether you’re sensitive or not , you will  still get great results.  Not all warts, skin tags or broken capillaries are created equal so you may have to pop over a second time after the skin has healed. The technician first does a skin analysis but you can also have your treatment immediately after. Give yourself a total of 30 min at Belle Visage and you’ll be at the front desk ready to go home.

Lamprobe is $ 100 for a few little spots or $170 for a full treatment. Most women have skin tags or little blood spots on their tummy or under the brassiere line. This is the perfect treatment for it.

Cryoprobe is $175 for the treatment. Doesn’t matter how small or large the area is. They’re both fast and safe. Please make sure to give it between 5-10 days to fully heal. The area may become a bit darker and will then flake off on its own.

If you’d like to have the area numbed before hand, please come in 30 min prior to your appointment. I don’t think it’s necessary , but I’m a tough girl!

Cellulite, Why do you exist? I don’t get it. You’re around whether we’re thin or not!

So…. let me tell you a little bit about Cellulite. Too much detail but if you have it, you’ll read it.

How Cellulite is Formed

The skin is divided into 3 layers. Imagine that the upper layer of your skin is like the upper layer of  a mattress. The upholstery on the upper surface of the mattress is held by pegs to give it a plush feeling. This gives a mattress the dimpling effect as seen in the picture.

The human skin has a similar structure.  Connective collagen bands anchor the inner layer of the skin (dermis) to the muscle below. These connective bands hold the skin that covers over your body.

Incidentally, its the firmness of the collagen connective bands that gives babies their lovely soft and supple skin. As we age, these bands lose their elasticity. Have you ever pinched the skin of a baby. Try pinching the skin of an 80 year old person. It takes some seconds before the skin gets back to normal.
